If You're Interviewing, Please Bring Several Copies Of Your Resume

'Tis the time of year to find a new job for many. Among many pieces of advice I could give you, I leave you with this one. When you go to an interview, please please please bring several copies of your resume. For your own sake!

Out of every technical interview I've conducted this year, not one person brought a copy of their resume.

Yeah, programmers are real laggers when it comes to interviews. I've only interviewed one guy, and he wore a black suit with brown sneakers. That gives me an idea: a website dedicated to cutting edge geek fashion. On second thought - naa...

Pat, you're just the guy to start that. ;)

Luckily, this guy was a very strong candidate and I'm willing to overlook his unpreparedness. As long as he's more detail oriented when looking after our databases.

Thats sort of old school and has been deprecated with the advent of recruiting companies and online job searches. (I never go without another copy handy though)
